One of the things that makes Fajr International Film Festival so popular is the competition of actors and actresses who draw their own fans each, to the movie theatres; people like it when those celebrities walk over the red carpet and sit beside the audience to watch the flicks.
It’s the audience that has its say in the audience award, and affects the jury decisions; it’s them who determines the winners in each category.
Parviz Parastui, Mahtab Keramati, Mohammad Javad Ezzati, Babak Hamidian, Navid Mohammad Zadeh and a dozen of other professionals will once again compete to take the crystal Simorghs home. That contest is, especially in the runoff, one of the most remarkable events the festival offers each year.
Among all the competitors, Babak Hamidian has played roles in four flicks; ‘In the Time of the Levant’, ‘Feast of Desolation’, ‘Seizure’, and ‘Cypress’ are the four movies in which Hamidian has appeared. Next in the row are Hadi Hejazifar and Sahar Dolatshahi, each starring in 3 films. Hejazifar is on the cast of ‘Lottery’, ‘Istanbul Junction’, ‘In the Time of the Levant’ and ‘Woodpecker’, while Dolatshahi’s this year’s films include ‘Cold Sweat’, ‘Amir’, and ‘Istanbul Junction’.
