Iranian actress Gelareh Abbasi will serve as a member of the jury of the 16th Pune International Film Festival in India.
The popular actress will judge films submitted to the film festival, which will run in the Indian city of Pune from January 11-18.
Other jury members hail from Canada, Italy, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Poland as well as the host country, organizers stated.
Abbasi became a household name with the series ‘Madness of Love’. Her cinematic debut was in the 2008 film ‘A True Report’.
She has also performed in the series ‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’, among others.
The 16th edition of the Pune International Film Festival will host several Iranian films in the global cinema section of the event.
Those films are ‘Anonymity’ by Alireza Samadi, ‘Atmosphere Station’ by Mehdi Jafari and ‘Asphyxia’ by Fereidun Jeirani.
