The Poster of Masoud Jafari-Jozani’s new movie ‘Behind the Wall of Silence’ has been unveiled.

Jafari-Jozani’s latest work is slated to compete at the ‘Soda-ye-Simorgh’ section of the 35th Fajr Film Festival.  ‘Soda-ye-Simorgh’ is the main completion section of the prestigious Iranian festival.

The movie which stars Sahar Jafari-Jozani (director’s daughter) is about a young girl called Setareh who tries to make a difference.

The cast also includes prominent Iranian actors and actresses Roya Teymourian, Amin Tarokh, Behzad Farahani, Sima Tirandaz, Shaqayeq Farahani, Siamak Safari, Fariba Motekhasses, Hossein Pakdel, Parviz Pourhosseini, Somayeh Nojoumi, Arman Darvish and Mehdi Ahmadi.

Born in 1948 in the Iranian city of Malayer, Masoud Jafari-Jozani is an eminent Iranian director, producer and screenwriter.

He travelled to the US to continue his academic studies. He is a San Francisco State University graduate in filmmaking.

Jafari-Jozani began his cinematic career as a script writer and director of short films.

In 1985, he made his first feature film ‘The Cold Roads’. Since then he has written, directed and produced several movies, including ‘In the Storm's Path’ (1988), ‘One Man, One Bear’ (1992), ‘Puberty’ (1998), and ‘Iran Burger’ (2014).

Jafari-Jozani directed the series ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ (2003-2009) which depicts the last few decades in modern Iranian history before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Fajr Festivals are annually held in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn) which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th Fajr Film Festival will be held in February 2017.
