Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Elle’ and Francois Ozon’s ‘Frantz’ have led the nominations at the 42nd edition of the Cesar Awards in France.
France’s equivalent of the Oscars, Cesar Awards, recently announced 2017 hopefuls with ‘Elle’ and ‘Frantz’ nominated for 11 Cesar Awards each, followed by Bruno Dumont’s ‘Slack Bay’ grabbing nine nominations.
‘Elle’ that was premiered at Cannes, brought a Golden Globe award and an Oscar nomination for best actress to the French star Isabelle Huppert.
Huppert’s nomination for ‘Elle’ is her 16th at the Cesar.
Houda Benyamina’s directorial debut ‘Divines’ won the Camera d’Or in Cannes and is now nominated for seven Cesar awards.
