The 2nd San Mauro Film Festival (STIFF) has nominated Iranian animated piece ‘We’ for the semi-final round of the competition.
Written and directed by Fateme Fadaee Darestani, the 3-minute short animated film, made in 2015, tells the story of two sisters who are trapped under rubbles and are waiting for their father to come and save them.
The flick has so far won several awards at national and international festivals, including the 8th W.I.N.D. (Women, Innovation and Technology, United Nations and Diversity) filmfest and the 6th Best Shorts Competition award, both held in the US in 2017.
The film has been selected to go on the silver screen at the 3rd Cefalu film festival in Italy in 2018, too.
The San Mauro Film Festival accepts short and feature film submissions from all over the globe, and the submitted movies need to bear either English or Italian subtitles.
The 2nd edition of STIFF is slated to be held May 23 to 25, 2018, in Turin, Italy.
