Saman Ehteshami stages combo Piano solo on Iran TV

Film score composer and musician, Saman Ehteshami, has for the first time performed diversity pieces on ‘Gathering’, a popular night show on Iran IRIB TV.

IRIB broadcast the artist’s special performance over the weekend, with millions of people watching. What makes it different about the recital is the composition, made of several parts with both smooth and sudden shifts in between. This is what Saman calls ‘pulling piano’s leg’.

Popular director, actor and the program’s host, Mehran Modiri, who’s had a long run on a plethora of TV programs (series, films), as well as in cinema, also talked to Saman on personal and professional topics. There will be more on that in part II, and on how Saman’s combo Iranian-western solos have attracted wide attention.
