Iran short film 'Lunch Time' star takes home Best Actress Award at the 13th edition of Huntington Beach Film Festival in the US.
Young Ms. Khorshid Cheraghipoor is a new Iranian actress who achieved the Best Actress award at the 13th edition of the Filmfest in California.
The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ directed by Alireza Qasemi is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.
The short film has been nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
The flick has also won the award for best fiction film at the 2017 edition of the Student International Film Festival in Croatia.
There have been other festivals that have selected 'Lunch time' as a recipient of different awards like 2017 Snakes Alley Festival of Film in the US, 6th edition of the Pachuca Film Festival in Mexico, and several others.
Since 2005, the Huntington Beach Film Festival has been bringing the best of independent films to the society, according to the festival website.
The latest edition of the festival was held February 22-24, 2018, in California, US.
