Iran movie ‘Cold Breath’ has been scheduled to compete at the 15th Hong Kong Salento International Film Festival (HKSIFF).
Directed by Abbas Raziji, the movie was introduced to the festival by the 14th Italian Salento International Film Festival (SIFF) as the ‘Best of the Fest’. The movie had also received the ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ for Bita Baderan’s performance.
Every year, the Italian festival, founded in 2004 in south Italy, introduces the “Best of the Fest” films to international destinations such as Zurich, London, Hong Kong, New York, Santiago del Cile, Moscow and San Petersburg, as part of a world tour.
The flick depicts a young woman whose daughter gives in to cancer, and she has got to settle the pertinent costs.
It stars Bita Baderan, Majid Mozaffari, Parichehr Riali, Hamideh Barati and Ezzatollah Ramezanifar.
‘Cold Breath’ has so far won the top prize of the International Mammoth Lakes Film Festival in the US, as well as the ‘Best Narrative Feature’ prize at the 2nd edition of the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival in the US.
The movie has also been screened in the 10th Muscat International Film Festival in Oman, the 58th Newcastle Int’l Film Festival in Britain, the All Lights India International Film Festival, the Action on Film Festival in the US, the 43rd edition of the Seattle International Film Festival, the "Cinema at the Edge" Indie Film Festival in the US, and the London Independent Film Festival in UK.
