- The 74th Venice Film Festival awarded Navid Mohammadzadeh (as Best Actor) and Vahid Jalilvand (as Best Director) for ‘No Date, No Signature’.
- ‘Malaria’ won two awards of Best Actress (to Saghar Qana'at) and Best Director (to co-directors Parviz Shahbazi and Masoud Radaei) from the 10th International Film Festival 'East&West' in Russia.
- Iranian blockbuster ‘Sperm Whale 2’ hit highest-grossing record of the past six years by passing ‘Outcast’.
- Narges Abyar, with her movie ‘Breath’, was Iran’s first female director to vie for Foreign Language Oscar Nomination.
