India festival hoists Iran film ‘Wishbone’ in competition

‘Wishbone’ by Ali Atshani is to be showcased at the 5th Darbhanga International Film Festival in India.

Globally acknowledged Iranian film ‘Wishbone’ by Ali Atshani is due to play in competition the 5th Darbhanga International Film Festival in India.

A Saturday report quoted the media advisor of the flick as saying that the 5th Darbhanga International Film Festival 2018 (DIFF) has handpicked Atshani’s ‘Wishbone’ for the event.

The cinematic work compares and contrasts the ups and downs experienced by a fired coach who meets a girl he previously knew.

The flick cast includes Mitra Hajjar, Hossein Yari, Mahchehreh Khalili, Azadeh Mehdizadeh and Bita Atshani, among others.

Some of the flim's accolades include taking home the awards for best feature film and best director of the year at the WIND International Film Festival in the US as well as Best Cinematic Film at the 3rd edition of the London Independent Filmmakers Association Festival.

The Darbhanga International Film Festival (DIFF) was established in 2013 with the perspective for serving the society by art and culture involving film and media activities.

The event is to launch on April 20, 2018 in Bihar state, India.
