Here are some updates on the fifth day of 36th Fajr International Film Festival.

1. Finnish director, actor and producer, Jorn Donner says to the media that Young film makers should not seek advice from anyone and should do only what they feel like doing. He mentions that they could have some advice from him, but ignore it.

He advices them to, 'Be yourself and do what you love.'

2. Being asked if he saw any improvements at Fajr, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, an Indian director says that it is very remarkable that you have centers like Charsou Cineplex where you can spend the whole day, eat and watch movies.

He adds, 'It’s a big celebration of cinema from all over the world. It also puts an emphasis on Iranian cinema. I can see that there is a market here. That’s the way it should be.'

3. Iranian minister of education, Seyyed Mohammad Bathaei, visited the festival site. During the visit, he praised the newly added section of the festival called The 7th Hour.

He noted, ' The 7th Hour is an opportunity for schoolchildren to develop social skills, have a sense of commitment to whatever they are involved in, and develop in all aspects, including intellectual, cultural and social capabilities.'

4. The festival's Talent campus holds workshop with three-time Oscar winner American director, Oliver Stone.

5. The festival has unveiled a new book about the late Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami which is titled 'An Alternative Cinema'.

The book is a collection of articles and interviews on the cinema of Abbas Kiarostami.
