Amir meets up with a member of the deposed Shah’s secret police in Iran, SAVAK, to find any trace of his wife. The SAVAK member’s daughter, Parvaneh, finds Amir in her house and figures her father has some information at hand with a top secret code. To find a guide to her relentless quest, she helps Amir hunt for tell-tale clues as to his wife’s whereabouts.
