Ali returns to Tehran after spending years abroad, studying agriculture, but he doesn’t want to stay. He has fond memories of the childhood he spent in his family garden in a nearby village, and he wants to move back there to rejuvenate it. He also has grand plans of establishing an agricultural institute in the village, but things don't go as smoothly as he had hoped. He gets himself into trouble as soon as he gets there when he tries to stop a fight, ending up beating one of the henchmen of a local landlord they call the General who controls the police and runs the village as if it were his own.
