The series is about Ramin, who has traveled from Iran to India to pursue his academic studies. There he meets an Indian girl called Sita and falls in love with her.
Although her family is against the relationship, they get engaged and he whisks her away to Tehran. Believing they have left the problems of the past behind them, they soon realize that their problems have only just begun.
