Afshar, Hamid-Reza (born 1955, Tehran)

Hamid-Reza Afshar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Acting and Directing from the University of Tehran as well as a Master’s degree in the same major from Tarbiat Modarres University. 

He also gained a Doctoral degree in Art Research from Tehran University of Art. 

Afshar is a member of the Cinema and Theater Faculty of Tehran University of Art.

He made his cinematic debut in 1972 with the movie ‘Shower’.

He has appeared in a number of movies including ‘All My Daughters’ (1991), ‘Shadow of Illusion’ (1993), ‘Hemlock’ (2000), ‘The Boss’ (2007), ‘Trial On Street’ (2008), ‘Verdict of the Boss’ (2009) and ‘Tehran Confidential’ (2011).

A number of series in which he has performed include ‘The Teacher’ (1990), ‘Let Us Throw Flowers’ (1995), ‘Corrupt Hands’ (1996), ‘The Passenger’ (2000), ‘Family Restaurant’ (2001), ‘The Tenth Night’ (2001) and ‘The Edge of Fire’ (2011).
