Hashemi, Javad (AKA Seyyed Javad Hashemipour Asl: born January 17, 1966, Tehran)
Hashemi has studied Directing at the College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, making his stage debut with the play ‘Ibrahim’s Hajj, Ashura’s Hajj’ in 1979.
He subsequently continued his acting career in the art department of the Ministry of Education.
Hashemi began his cinematic career in 1986 with Rasoul Mollaqolipour’s ‘Flight at Night’ (1986).
He has taken part in a number of movies, including ‘The Glass Eye’ (1990), ‘The Turtle’ (1996), ‘Wild Jasmines’ (1997), ‘Assassination’ (1997)’, ‘The Outcasts 1’ (2006), ‘The Outcasts 2’ (2011), and ‘Tehran Boy’ (2008).
He has also appeared in several series such as ‘The Rise of Mokhtar’ (2004-2009), ‘The Rich and the Poor’ (2010) and ‘Simorgh’ (1987).
In addition to acting, Hashemi has directed the film ‘The Fortunate One’ (2011). He has written and directed the TV series ‘Beguiled’ (2010) as well.
He has also composed the soundtrack of the movie ‘Flight of Soul’ (1998).
