Darvish, Ahmad-Reza (born July 24, 1961, Hamedan)

Ahmad-Reza Darvish has a degree in graphic design and architecture. He is one of the second-generation directors after the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution.

He has directed and written the screenplay of the movies ‘The Last Flight’ (1987), ‘The Devil’ (1990), ‘Kimiya’ (1995), ‘Land of the Sun’ (1997), ‘Born in the Month of Mehr’ (1999), ‘The Duel’ (2003) and ‘Resurrection Day’ (‘Hussein Who Said No’) (2014).

He has been nominated for nine awards and has won three Crystal Simorghs from Fajr international films festival for ‘Kimiya’ (1995), had 13 award nominations and won seven Crystal Simorghs for ‘Land of the Sun’ (1996), had nine award nominations and won three Crystal Simorghs for ‘Born in the Month of Mehr’ (1999), had 11 award nominations and won seven Crystal Simorghs for ‘The Duel’ (2003). ‘The Duel’ (2003) has also won awards in many international film festivals. 

He is one of the founders of the Iran Cinema Museum and has served on the Fajr International Film Festival panel of jury four times.
