Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian is an Iranian director and scriptwriter.
He received his bachelor’s in Cinema from Sooreh University and gained his master’s degree from Iran Broadcasting University.
Mahdavian won recognition by directing 'The Last Days of Winter' which was a documentary.
He has so far made three feature films, two of which nominated and received several awards at two editions of Fajr Film Festival.
His 'Standing in the Dust' (2016) has gained several noms at the 34th edition of the festival, culminating in three Crystal Simorgh awards for best film, best set and costume design and best special effects.
In 2017, he made 'The Midday Event' which competed at the 35th edition of the local festival. The title booked 9 nominations and bagged best film and set and costume design awards.
‘Lottery’ (2018) is the most recent work by famed Iran director, grabbing the audience attention in Iranian theaters.
Besides feature films, Mahdavian has several notable documentaries listed on his artistic resume such as 'The Murder of Spring'.
