Daryoush Asadzadeh
Asadzadeh, Daryoush (born November 23, 1923, Kermanshah-died August 25, 2019, Tehran)
Upon finishing high school, Asadzadeh decided to pursue his education in acting, beginning his artistic career in theater.
The National Arts Center also sent him to Paris to participate in the theater festival there. Upon his return, the veteran actor began directing plays.
Later in 1967, he traveled to the US for the film ‘It Happened in America’ where he began acting and script writing.
He then returned to Iran in 1986 and started making films and taking on television projects.
Asadzadeh was active in the field of arts for more than 70 years and performed in many movies, including ‘Spouse’ (1993), ‘Scent of Camphor; Fragrance of Jasmine’ (1993), ‘This is not a Love Song’ (2005), ‘Music Box’ (2007), ‘Resident of the Wooden Cottage’ (2012), ‘Hello Grandfather’ (2014) and ‘Orphanages of Tehran’ (2014).
He also appeared in the television films like ‘Treasure of the White House’ (2009), ‘A Decent Job’ (2010) and ‘The Poet and Brothers’ (2012). His television series include ‘The Green House’ (1996), ‘The Friendship Agency’ (1996-1999), ‘Days of Youth’ (1998), ‘Dark Intelligence’ (2009), ‘Suitcase’ (2011), ‘Special Guests’ (2011), ‘39 Weeks’ (2014) and ‘Huge Problems 2’ (2015).
Asadzadeh headed the Iranian Association of Actors and chairs the board of directors of the Kimia Institute of Arts and Culture.
He was also a jury member in Iran’s House of Cinema and has authored a number of books.
