Hajian, Azita (born January 11, 1958, Tehran)
Hajian has a degree in acting and directing, beginning her artistic career in 1975 with the play ‘Shine on, Lady Sunshine’.
She made her cinematic debut with Mohammad Reza Honarmand’s ‘Doll Thief’ (1989).
She has performed in many movies, including ‘The Magical Journey’ (1990), ‘Actor’ (1992), ‘Snowman’ (1994), ‘Cloud and Sun’ (1996), ‘Red Ribbon’ (1998), ‘The Equation’ (2003), ‘Candle in the Wind’ (2003), ‘Mahya’ (2007), ‘The Wall’ (2007), ‘Gold and Earth’ (2008) and ‘The Orange Taxi’ (2008).
Among the series in which she has appeared are ‘Imam Ali’ (1997), ‘Khazra High School’ (1997), ‘The Green Journey’ (2001), ‘Unbreakable Mirrors’ (2008), ‘Until Being with Sorayya’ (2001) and ‘Kimiya’ (2015).
For her performance in ‘Red Ribbon’ (1998), she won the Best Leading Actress Crystal Simorgh from the Fajr International Film Festival.
Hajian’s former husband was Iranian actor Mohammad-Reza Sharifinia. Their two daughters, Mehraveh and Melika Sharifinia, are also both actors.
