Kheirabadi, Hamideh (born December 21, 1924, Rasht - died April 19, 2010, Tehran)

Hamideh Kheirabadi completed her secondary school education and married at a very young age.

She began her acting career on stage in 1953 and made her film debut in the same year with ‘Patriot’. She continued acting until the final years of her life.

Before and after the Islamic Revolution, she worked with several renowned Iranian film directors, including Ali Hatami, Dariush Mehrjoui and Masoud Kimiaee.

Kheirabadi appeared in several movies, including ‘A World Filled with Hope’ (1969), ‘Honeymoon’ (1976), ‘A Sunny Night’ (1977), ‘Night Breaker’ (1984), ‘The Cloudy House’ (1986), ‘The Tenants’ (1986), ‘Mother’ (1989), ‘Shadow of Illusion’ (1990), ‘Ali and Jungle Ghoul’ (1990), ‘The Lady’ (1991), ‘Pickpockets Don't Go to Heaven’ (1991), ‘Maryam and Mitil’ (1992), ‘The Fateful Day’ (1994), ‘Red Cap and Cousin’ (1994), ‘A Gift from India’ (1994), ‘The Kind Moon’ (1995), ‘The Sunny Man’ (1995), ‘The Loser’ (1995), ‘The Actor’ (1999), and ‘Tokyo, Non-stop’ (2002).

She also acted in a number of series such as ‘Bittersweet’ (1974), ‘Fear’s Reward’ (1992), ‘Apartment’ (1992-1993), ‘The Patriarch’ (1993-1995), ‘The Spouses’ (1994), ‘The Green House’ (1996), ‘Eternal Train’ (1997), ‘Seasoned Rider’ (1997), ‘All My Children’ (1997), ‘In My Heart’ (1998), ‘Godfather’ (1999), ‘Childhood Memories’ (2001), ‘Parents' Problems’ (2001), ‘The Green Journey’ (2002), ‘Thousands of Eyes’ (2002), and ‘That's Not the Way’ (2003).

Kheirabadi also held a record number of 200 appearances in movies.

She was nominated three times for the Best Actress Crystal Simorgh at the Fajr International Film Festival.

In 2008, the second edition of Iran Cinema Celebration Awards honored Kheirabadi with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Her daughter Soraya Qasemi is an actress too.

Kheirabadi passed away in her house in Tehran due to a brain stroke at the age of 86.
