Bayegan, Afsaneh (born 1961, Tehran)
Afsaneh Bayegan began her acting career in 1972 with the short film ‘Horn’ directed by Ali Alizadeh.
She began her professional acting career in 1984 with the series ‘Sarbedaran’.
Her first movie as an adult was ‘Missing’ (1985). She subsequently appeared in several features and became one of Iran’s most prolific actresses of the 1980s and 1990s.
Some of the movies in which she has appeared include ‘Maryam and Mitil’ (1993), ‘Strange Sisters’ (1995), ‘The Wrong Guy’ (1997), ‘Kanan’ (2007) and ‘Superstar’ (2008).
She has also played roles in many TV series, including ‘Day of Envy’ (2008) and ‘Code White’ (2008).
The movie ‘Strange Sisters’ (1995) gained her a Diploma of Honor for Best Actress at the 14th Fajr International Film Festival.
