Reza Attaran
Attaran, Reza (born May 10, 1968, Mashhad)
Reza Attaran is a native of Khorasan Razavi Province. He received a degree in economics in the city of Mashhad before moving to Tehran to study industrial design at the University of Tehran, faculty of Fine Arts.
In 1982, he left his education unfinished to pursue a career in theater.
He achieved fame through the comedy television series 'Happy Hour' in 1994.
Attaran later began directing successful comedy series for children and young adults.
Attaran has appeared in several movies, such as 'The Key to Marriage' (1997), 'Cinderella' (2001), 'Red Cap and Sarvenaz' (2002), 'The Rival Wife' (2005), 'A Hat for Baran' (2006), 'Quarantine' (2007), 'Forced Blessing' (2007), 'The Empty Chair' (2008), 'The Sting and the Bee' (2008), 'Three Degree Fever' (2009), 'No Men Allowed' (2010), 'Whatever God Wants' (2010), 'The Horse Is a Noble Animal' (2010), 'I'm Sleepy' (2011), 'Without Reason or Cause' (2011), 'Mirror and Candlestick' (2012), 'The Corridor' (2013), 'Red Carpet' (2013), 'Sensitive Level' (2013), 'Kalashnikov' (2013), 'Absolute Rest' (2014), 'Sperm Whale' (2014), 'Guinness' (2014), and 'I'm Not Salvador' (2015).
He has acted in a number of series, including 'Flight 57' (1993), 'Happy Year' (1995), 'Shirin’s World' (1996), 'Greenland' (1997), 'Apple for Laughs' (1997), 'Eternal Train' (2000), 'Under the City Sky' (2002), 'The Seamen' (2002), 'Aqaqiya Alley' (2003), 'Homeless' (2004), 'The Suspect Got Away' (2005), 'Hodhod Bookstore' (2005), 'Sweet and Sour' (2006), 'The Trace' (2007), 'Three by Four' (2008), 'Right on Time' (2008), 'Waves and Cliffs' (2011), 'Full Stop, Next Line' (2011), and 'Heart of Ice 3' (2012).
In 2011, he was nominated for an Iran Cinema Celebration Merit Statue for his roles in 'No Men Allowed' and 'The Horse Is a Noble Animal'.
He was also nominated for two Fajr International Film Festival's Crystal Simorghs for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role for his roles in 'I’m Sleepy' and 'The Corridor'.
