Jebeli, Hamid (born 1958, Tehran)

One of the best-loved Iranian actors, Jebeli enjoys nationwide fame and popularity. 

He started out his career at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, an experience which served as great inspiration for his future works. 

 In 1978, he stepped on stage and marked the beginning of his professional career. 

Soon after, he joined the cast of 'Adineh' and subsequently appeared in several other TV dramas and program most of which were comedies. 

He made his small screen debut in 'Boro Bia Neighborhood' (1982) and his first silver screen appearance was in ‘End Line’ (1984).

While Jebeli found popularity on the small and silver screens, it was a puppet character that immortalized him. 

In 1993, Jebeli and Iraj Tahmasb started a children’s program named 'Kolah Ghermezi' meaning 'Red Hat' in which he voiced the main characters Kolah Ghermezi and his cousin 'Pesar Khaleh'. 

Jebeli has also been a prolific actor, screenwriter and director in the film industry. 

He has written and directed the movies 'White Dream' (2003) and 'The Son of Maryam' (1998) and cooperated in the production of many other movies as a screenwriter. 

He has appeared in a range of movies including 'Mother' (1989), 'The Singing Cat' (1990), 'The Devoted' (1991), 'The Pastry Girl' (2001), and 'Under the Peach Tree' (2005).
