Tarokh, Amin (born August 11, 1953, Shiraz)

Tarokh finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Tehran, Faculty of Dramatic Arts, and has a Master’s degree in Cultural Management.

With years of experience, he is one of the most successful and popular Iranian actors who has performed in numerous movies, series and plays.

He has also served on jury panels of many national film festivals.

He founded the Independent Acting Workshop, the first acting school, in Tehran in 1994 and was a drama teacher for two years at a south Australian university.

In 1997, he won the Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for ‘The Moon and the Sun’ (1995) and was nominated for a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor for his performance in ‘The Havana Brief’ (2005).

He has acted in movies such as ‘The Death of Yazdgerd’ (1982), ‘Little Bird of Happiness’ (1987), ‘Mother’ (1988), ‘The Devoted’ (1991), ‘Sheikh Mofid’ (1995), ‘Conspiracy’ (1995), ‘Seven Stones’ (1997), ‘Rules of the Game’ (1997), ‘Saghar’ (1997), ‘Barefoot in Heaven’ (2005), 'The 25th Hour' (2006), 'The Boss' (2006), 'Extreme Cold' (2009) and 'Red Garden' (2009).

The most popular series that Tarokh has appeared in are ‘Sarbedaran’ (1985), ‘The Green Journey’ (2000), ‘Coma’ (2007), ‘Injury’ (2010), 'Milky Way' (2014), and 'Look Back Sometimes' (2015).
