Alireza Jafari started acting career from childhood as one of the most successful child actors in Iranian cinema. He made his professional acting debut with 'Mom's Guests'.
He plays one of the main roles in the series featuring a simple provincial youngster who makes a move to Iranian capital after being admitted to university based in Tehran.
The presence of this character (Saman) lifts the drama to a higher point as he falls for a girl with a set in stone plan to marry her.
Enjoy reading an excerpt of his interview appearing below:
Mr. Jafari, what is so special about Ehsan Sangi?
Jafari: The character is a simple provincial youngster who makes a move to Iranian capital after being admitted to a university based in Tehran. The role is one of the main pillars of this series which carries over the dramatic load of the production.
A present-day youngster who entered a metropolis from a small town. The character in the series seems responsible and does not think about anything other than his education. Ehsan is also on his university volleyball team.
Is Ehsan an all-out positive character?
Jafari: Yes, that is right. He is straight as a die with no intention to harm anyone.
What aspect of this character has grabbed you most?
Before this series, I played the roles of live, active, playful and zealous young men with a ting of roughness. However, in the case of Ehsan, he appears as a calm and collected youth and generally speaking he is a totally positive and sweet provincial youngster.
However, these features don’t steer him away from being up-to-date as he is smart and his intelligence can manage various situations.
In terms of appearance, you played the role of Ehsan with a different makeup…
Jafari: I wore glasses to feature the role due to showing the calmness of the character. The tone of his talk is also soft and calm. All these features were added to the role for a change.
How does being a volleyball player in the case of Ehsan affect characterization?
Jafari: It was just for the look of it and has little to do with the characterization of Ehsan. Since I’m tall it was decided that the character would be a volleyball player.
What do you think of the role of this series director?
He did the best by adding humor to a social drama narrative in the series. I think he was one of the strong points of this production.
