Iranian film ‘Stammer’ to vie in Vienna

Iranian film ‘Stammer’ is to compete at the Vienna Int’l Children's Film Festival.

Iranian feature film ‘Stammer’ has been selected to vie at the 31st edition of the Vienna International Children's Film Festival.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Haji-Gholami, the film narrates the story of a boy whose sister suffers from stammering. The boy goes to a school that has only one class and the other students make fun of her sister for her speech disorder. So, he tries to help her to overcome the problem.

Following his teacher’s advice, the boy tries to buy some books that help his sister get over the stammering; but he faces some challenges that make the film appealing.

The fest showcases international productions or co-productions of great artistic merit, intended specifically for children and young people.

The fest presents three awards including Price of the Children’s Jury, Audience Award and UNICEF-Price.

The 31st edition of the fest will be held from November 16 to 24, 2019.
