Hollywood depicts false image of Imam Mahdi

Hollywood has made some movies with clear references to the twelfth Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (AS), depicting the promised savior far from the truth.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and  Netflix ‘Messiah’ are two cases in point where the audience is misled by the representation of a savior who pretends to be real and cruel to people after his reappearance.

Such movies have always drawn controversy and stirred up Muslim public opinion since the content is in stark contrast with the reality of the savior mentioned in Islamic references.

While these movies are not directly referring to Imam Mahdi (AS), the subtheme can shape the audience’s mind in a way that distorts the reality of the twelfth Shia Imam. For instance, in ‘X-Men’ the so-called superhero is shown in an Islamic country wearing a scarf around his neck, insinuating the Islamic context for the audience.     

Imam Mahdi (AS) was born on the 15th day of the month of Sha’ban on the lunar calendar around 1,200 years ago. Today mark the birth anniversary of  Imam Mahdi (AS) in Iran.

He is known as the Savior among Shias, who believe he will reappear on earth as per divine decree, establishing peace and ridding the world of injustice, discrimination, and other instances of evil.
