Reading filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘World Cup’

The Reading Film Fest in the US is to host Iranian ‘World Cup’.

The 2021 Reading Film Fest in the US has been set to host Iranian short flick ‘World Cup’.

Written and directed by Maryam Khodabakhsh, the short flick will be screened at the Female Filmmaker Shorts section of the 7th edition of the US event.

‘World Cup’ is about a couple’s newly found problem upon their immigration. On the night they start their journey, the child of their friend, who has been entrusted to them, gets lost, and then a secret reveals.

The film has already taken part in some global events, including the Festival Internacional Cine de America in Mexico.

The Reading Film Fest presents films that promote conversation about racial issues. The event also includes panel discussions and Q&A sessions with filmmaker.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival will be a hybrid event.

A number of other Iranian films such as ‘Today is Friday’, ‘Inhale’ and ‘Goodbye Olympics’ will also be screened at the upcoming edition of the festival slated for September30-October 3.
