Iranian ‘Elders’ wins at SMR13 fest in France

Iranian short ‘Elders’ wins award at the 2021 SMR13 Int’l Independent Film Festival in France.

Iranian short flick ‘Elders’ has garnered the Best Director award at the sixth edition of the SMR13 International Independent Film Festival in France.

Co-directed by Parisa Sedaee-Azar and Ramin Farzaneh, ‘Elders’ is about a 70-year-old man, named Kazem, who plans to run away from a nursing home.

The actors of the short flick are Kazem Hashemzadeh, Malakeh Fathi, and Mahsa Sedaee-Azar.

The short flick has previously won the Diploma of the Audiences Sympathy at the Baku International Short Film Festival in Azerbaijan and the Special Jury Prize at the International Siirt Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The SMR13 screens short and long films and aims to promote and award independent cinema.

The 2021 edition of the festival was held on November 18-21.
