Mehrad to meet his fate in ‘The Enigma of the Shah’: iFilm cut

Jafar Mehrad is to meet his sad fate in the 85th episode of iFilm’s historical series ‘The Enigma of the Shah’ to be aired tonight at 22:00 GMT (01:30 Tehran time).

Mehrad was an activist for a long time in the ongoing revolution of the Iranian people against the tyranny of the Shah’s regime.

He was not alone in his adventures as the daughter of one of his best friend’s Nourafagh Vaziri shared his cause and fought shoulder to shoulder with him.

In tonight’s episode of the show, when Mehrad opens fire on the SAVAK agent who is in the hunt for Nourafagh, he does not know that it will be the end for him and he too will be hunted by the same officer.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Varzi, ‘The Enigma of the Shah’ recounts Iran’s contemporary history, beginning with the rule of Reza Shah Pahlavi and ending with the Islamic Revolution of Iran which brought down the Pahlavi Dynasty.

In 1979, the Iranian nation rose up to bring an end to the dictatorship of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.

Led by a charismatic leader named Ayatollah Khomeini, Iranians finally succeeded in changing the country’s system to an Islamic Republic.

Some of the most notable on the prolific cast list are Jafar Dehqan, Hessam Navvab-Safavi, Ali Dehkordi, Rahim Norouzi, Arsalan Qasemi, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Hadis Fouladvand, Mohammad-Reza Sharifinia, Gohar Kheirandish, Siavash Tahmoures and Sorayya Qasemi.
