Havva filmfest embraces power of family values: Tajik filmmaker Muhiddine Muzzafer

Tajik filmmaker Muhiddine Muzzafer has made a notable presence at the 1st Havva Int'l Film Festival.

Renowned Tajik filmmaker Muhiddine Muzzafer has made a notable presence at the inaugural Havva International Film Festival, being held at Tehran's Farhang Cinema and simultaneously across multiple provinces in Iran.

In an exclusive interview with the festival's news headquarters, Muzzafer expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "Returning to the vibrant cultural hub of beautiful Iran for the second time this year fills me with heartfelt appreciation to God. Attending the Havva International Film Festival was the motive behind my journey, as our film 'The Last New Year' was selected for screening."

Reflecting on the festival's chosen motto 'We Stand for the Family', Muzzafer shared his perspective, highlighting the significance of films centered on familial themes and their paramount importance in the contemporary world.

He acknowledged a growing trend in the US and the West, where non-familial and alternative relationships are actively promoted.

As an advocate for the festival's principles, Muzzafer believed that Havva serves as a potent platform to counteract these ideologies by honoring and upholding cherished family values.

He observed that numerous international filmmakers and producers resonate strongly with the festival's underlying principles, underscoring its global appeal.

Looking ahead, Muzzafer eagerly anticipated the festival's continuation in the following year, envisioning filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from around the world converging once again to celebrate the art of cinema.

Organized by the Goharshad International Foundation, the Havva International Film Festival captivated audiences, presenting a diverse range of narratives exploring profound themes related to women and family.

As the festival coincided with Iran's national observance of "Family Day", its significance within the local context was further accentuated.

Through this collective alliance and cultural exchange, the festival aimed to deepen the understanding and appreciation of the vital roles played by women and family in society.

Commencing on July 7th, the festival took off with great enthusiasm and is set to captivate audiences until July 14th, 2023.
