As the ‘House of Outsiders’ depicts the last breaths into the constitutional era in Iranian history, it does not very much show the courageous fights of the national hero for the cause of liberating the country from colonizers.
Mirza Yunes Ostad Saraei (AKA Mirza Koochak Khan Jangali) was a guerilla fighter during the constitutional era. He joined the revolutionaries of the northern region in the same era and participated in the conquest of Qazvin.
He was later exiled by the Russians, but on his return to Rasht, he and his new comrades fought to clear the north of the country from the existence of the Russian.
However, in the promo from tonight’s episode of the show, the whole nation’s adoration and respect for the great man is perfectly manifested.
In this series, the Iranian hero is brought to life by the adroit cinema and TV actor, Mohammad Sadeqi. However, Mirza's charismatic personality has been so appealing to the cineastes that various films and series have been made depicting a part of his unresting life.
One of the earliest portrayals of the role was, back in 1983, by the late Valiollah Momeni, who took the part in two cinematic works of ‘Mirza Koochak Khan’ and ‘Sardar-e Jangal’, both directed by Amir Qavidel.
Prior to these works that debuted him into cinema and TV acting, Momeni was a professional stage and voice actor. iFilm English TV has already shown some of the series he starred in, including ‘Head on Gallows’, ‘Tabriz in Fog’ and ‘The Enigma of the Shah’.
In 1987, the role was played by Alireza Mojallal, this time as the lead character of a TV series titled ‘Mirza Koochak Khan’, directed by Behrouz Afkhami.
Alireza Mojallal is originally from Gilan Province, where the national hero belongs to.
iFilm’s fans favorite TV series ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ is the next on the list of the works in which Mirza’s character is the essence of the constitutional era in Iran.
The reason Majid Giahchi, a non-actor, was selected for the role in Jafari Jozani’s series was his uncanny resemblance to the national hero.
In a most recent TV production ‘Gilehva’, also aired by iFilm English, Behrouz Shoeibi is the star who plays the role.
