Review on Iran, world box office for last weekend: Part 4

Karim Amini's 'Fossil' and a Bollywood movie are forerunners of the 35th weekend’s box office.

A Bollywood movie has become the forerunner of the 35th weekend’s box office, only one week through its screening.

Directed by Nahas Hidayath, ‘RDX: Robert Dony Xavier’ was seen by 57,720 people and ascended to the top slot of the Dubai box office during the last weekend of August.

The second and third positions on the list went to Nimród Antal’s ‘Retribution’ and Angel Manuel Soto’s ‘Blue Beetle’, both only one week on the silver screen.

This weekend, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’, selling only 5,808 tickets, was not among the top ten.

The total admissions result show the film with the highest revenue so far is ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1’ by Christopher McQuarrie.

Karim Amini's 'Fossil' has made its way to the top once again, to make it the 23rd week on a row that the comedy has ruled the Iranian box office.

The hilarious comedy that achieved a record-breaking sales success, has continued to dominate the box office within the period from August 16 to 22.

Amini’s flick has sold more than 93,000 tickets during the time span.

After this light-hearted make 'em laugh movie, Amini’s 'Lawless City', his other comedy for this year, secured the second spot on the list, selling more than 79,000 tickets.

The box office results indicate that with the summer holidays being about to end in Iran, younger cinemagoers have picked to spend the final days before starting the academic year in cinemas watching comedy movies.

Therefore, Davoud Atyabi’s 'Nargil 2' (Coconut 2), a musical comedy for kids, sold more than 33,000 passes to make it the third film on the list during the past week.
