Iranian actor Akbar Qadami passes away at 72

Famed Iranian actor Akbar Qadami has passed away after a period of illness.

The Iranian Film Actors' Association, in an official statement to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), confirmed the news, writing, “Unfortunately, we have been informed that Akbar Qadami has passed away outside the country.”

The Central Council of the association extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of this accomplished artist, who made significant contributions to our nation's film and television industry, and to his colleagues.

Born in April 1951, Qadami passed away at the age of 72, leaving behind a notable legacy.

He graced the silver screen with his presence in a range of movies, including ‘The Wet Dream’, ‘A Place to Live’, ‘The Winners’, ‘The Eagles' Nest’, ‘The Substitute Man’, ‘The Coffin’, ‘Storm’, ‘Sheikh Mofid’, ‘Regret’, ‘The Devil's Day’, ‘Statue’, ‘Travelers’, ‘Gifts’, and many more.

In addition to his cinematic roles, he also made a lasting impact on television, featuring in series such as ‘Asleep and Awake’, ‘Shahriar’, and ‘The Man with a Thousand Faces’.

Qadami’s contributions to the world of entertainment will be remembered and cherished.
