Book paints ideal future in ‘Prophet Joseph’

Joseph is to be given a book of prophecy to read in the twelfth episode of the popular series ‘Prophet Joseph’.

Aziz of Egypt has put great trust in the young slave he bought for his wife in a way that he even lets him in his room to read his precious books.

The very first book Joseph is supposed to read for the man is a book of prophecy that has pictured the future of Egypt without idols as gods.

“Egypt’s power is not eternal and the despotism ruling shall not last forever. One day all criteria shall change in Egypt. The poor and wealthy shall change places. This will happen after a bloody war. The wealthy shall lose their palaces and slaves and Amon shall not be worshipped by anybody. People shall come to power and shall worship a god greater than Amon,” Joseph reads.

Made by Farajollah Salahshour, the series is the Iranian version of the very beloved story of Prophet Joseph, the son of Prophet Jacob who guided the Israelites to pray to the One and Only God.

“God annunciates to him about the next prophet, who will be from his own generation. One night, his son, Joseph, dreams about the sun, the moon and eleven stars which kneel in front of him. He tells Jacob, who advises him not to tell his brothers about the dream,” a synopsis of the series by iFilm English website reads.

Prophet Joseph is dear to Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. For centuries, the story of his life has been told over and over in many different ways and in many different languages.

The most notable names on the cast list are Mostafa Zamani, Jafar Dehqan, Mahmoud Pakniyyat, Jahanbakhsh Soltani, Elham Hamidi, and Rahim Norouzi.
