Iranian television is gearing up for an eclectic lineup of series and diverse offerings.

1. New social drama ‘Chastity’ explores influencer culture

The upcoming television series ‘Chastity’, directed by Mahmoud Moazzami, delves into the world of influencers as part of its social melodrama storyline.

Currently in production, the series has garnered attention, with Peyman Jebelli, the Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), recently visiting the set to observe the ongoing work.

Moazzami, known for his previous work on social dramas like ‘It Might Happen to You’ and ‘Scent of Rain’, began filming ‘Chastity’ last year.

The series is now in the midst of its shooting phase, featuring a large ensemble cast that includes both well-known and emerging actors.

The narrative weaves together various themes, with a particular focus on the impact and influence of social media personalities.

The cast of ‘Chastity’ includes notable actors such as Alireza Khamseh, Hamid-Reza Pegah, Sorayya Qasemi, Arsalan Qasemi, Amir-Mohammad Zand, and Mohammad Hatami.

Produced by Ramin Mousavi, ‘Chastity’ promises to be a compelling exploration of contemporary social issues, set against the backdrop of modern influencer culture.

2. First Image of Giti Qasemi released as filming continues for ‘Bright Days’

As the filming of the series ‘Bright Days’ progresses, the first image of actress Giti Qasemi in the project has been released.

According to a report by Tasnim News Agency, ‘Bright Days’, directed by Vahid Amirkhani and produced by Hossein Payandeh, is a 65-episode series written by Ali Ramezan.

The series captures the essence of life in the 1990s Iran.

Previously, actors Farhad Ayeesh and Hassan Pourshirazi were announced as part of the cast.

‘Bright Days’ is a production of the Owj Arts and Media Organization, currently being filmed at Badban Film Studio.

3. New action series ‘Octopus’ set to premiere in October

Ahmad Moazzami, following his work on the series ‘The Investigator’, is set to bring his latest project ‘Octopus’ to the small screen this October.

The series, which was produced last year with little media coverage, will soon be airing on IRIB.

According to a report by Tasnim News Agency, pre-production for ‘Octopus’ began in June 2023, and after approximately six months of filming, production was completed in February of this year.

Due to its numerous action and police scenes, post-production for the series involved an extended visual effects process.

The series is scheduled to begin airing in the first week of October on one of Iran's television networks.

As the premiere approaches, the project has revealed its official logo, designed by Mohammad Rouholamin, marking its first media unveiling.

‘Octopus’, written by Ali Talebabadi and produced by Mohammad-Reza Shafiee, consists of 20 episodes.

It was developed by Vasfe Saba Arts and Cultural Institute and commissioned by the Sima Film Center and the Cultural and Social Deputy of the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (NAJA).
