Veteran Iranian actor Saeed Pirdoust passed away at the age of 85.

The actor of iFilm TV’s series ‘Non-Classified’, ‘Thousands of Eyes’, ‘Setayesh 3’, ‘Bread and Basil’, ‘The Man with a Thousand Faces’, ‘What Goes Around, Comes Around’, ‘Detective Alavi’, ‘The Billionaire’, ‘The Grand Prize’, and ‘Chaloos Road’ died after a period of suffering from cancer in Tehran on Tuesday.

Born in 1940, iFilm viewers have also seen Pirdoust in a number of movies, including ‘Tainted Hands’, ‘The Distinguished Suitor’, ‘Best Friends’, ‘The Lucky Suitor’, ‘Souvenir from Abroad’, and ‘Beyond Danger’.

He was a high school graduate and made his debut in 1973 in ‘Soil’.

He appeared in many movies, including ‘Lead’ (1988), ‘Snake Fang’ (1989), ‘Red’ (1998), ‘The Pastry Girl’ (2001), ‘Tokyo, Non-stop’ (2002), ‘Friday Soldiers’ (2003), ‘The Verdict’ (2005), ‘A Night in Tehran’ (2007), ‘Adam's Son, Eve's Daughter’ (2008) and ‘How I Became a Billionaire’ (2010).

Among the series he appeared in are ‘Tiptoe’ (2002), 'The Grand Prize' (2005), ‘The Circle of Suspicion’ (2002-2004), ‘Dotted Line’ (2003-2004), ‘Barareh Nights’ (2005), ‘Mozaffar’s Garden’ (2006), ‘The Weary-Hearted’ (2009), ‘Bitter Coffee’ (2009), and ‘Autumn Evening’ (2013).

He also tried his hand at assistant directing.
