On the eve of the birth anniversary of prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadeq (AS), Iran’s top animation ‘Holy Cast’ trailer is launched, prior to public screening.
The ceremony, held in Kourosh Cineplex was host to a large audience from all walks of life, as well as artists such as Mahmoud Pakniat (who played the role of prophet Jacob in the series ‘Prophet Joseph’), Kamran Takhti (who starred in ‘The Decius City’ and ‘Asleep and Awake), and Shahrokh Estakhri (who starred in ‘Worlds Apart’, ‘Amen’, ‘Solace of the Heart’ and ‘The Honeymoon’).
Directed by Mohammad Hamedani, the animation, which has so far bagged dozens of international and domestic awards, will be publicly screened on December 6, 2017, which marks the the birthday of the messenger of God.
A narrative of romance and epic, dating flipside to 1500 years ago, ‘Holy Cast’ is back on the headlines.
The animated piece is a feature with several accolades in its bag, chronicling the story of Haran, the flick’s hero whose journey brings about a dramatic, romantic and tragic upshot to the astonished audience.
It’s a century before the dawn of Islam, and the historic city of Najran in today’s Yemen is where the events unfold in a storyline based on a true historical story.
The film has so far snatched awards from the festivals of New York, Madrid Film, Hollywood Int’l moving pictures, India’s Jaipur, Romania’s 12-months, London 12-months, and Iran’s Fajr fests (3 of them top prizes), which took over 2.5 years to produce, was recently banned in Lebanon (after its premier in Beirut) the Best Animation Award at national section of the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival in 2016, and the Special Jury award at the 30th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in historic Iranian city of Isfahan.
