Adineh, Golab (born November 13, 1954, Tehran)
Born Golab Mosta'an, Golab Adineh holds a degree in Political Economics from Iran's Shahid Beheshti University.
She began theater acting in 1975 as a student in a troupe formed by Mehdi Hashemi and Dariush Farhang, appeared in many plays.
However, it was her performance in the drama 'Sultan and the Sheppard' (1981) which shot her to fame. She has also tried her hand at directing.
The Iranian actress' appearance in 'The Girl With the Blue Scarf' (1994) took a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role from the Fajr International Film Festival.
She went on to star in other films by Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, including 'The Lady Of Ordibehesht' (1997) and 'Under the Skin of the City' (1999).
Her performance in 'Mom's Guest' (2003) secured her a place as a powerful actress in Iran cinema.
Adineh has been a candidate of a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role for 'Mom's Guest' and 'While Everyone Was Asleep' (2005).
