Chehrehazad, Roqayyeh (born 1907, Tehran - died December 31, 1994)
Roqayyeh Chehrehazad began her acting career with theatre in 1931. She made her movie debut in 1948.
She appeared in several TV series, including ‘Hezar Dastan’ (1987), ‘Ziba Beauty Salon’ (1990), ‘Fear’s Reward’ (1992) and ‘The House is Away’ (1991-1995).
Chehrehazad also took part in various movies such as ‘Inheritance’ (1988), ‘The Bride’ (1990), ‘The Devoted’ (1991) and ‘Holy Land’ (1994).
On the occasion of the World Theatre Day, she received an Honors Diploma from Iran’s Theater Lovers Union in 1962.
The late actress won a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role at Fajr International Film Festival at the age of 81 for her performance in ‘Mother’ (1989), directed by Ali Hatamai.
She was the oldest actress to win the award.
She passed away at the age of 87.
