Gorjestani, Sirous (born March 15, 1949, Anzali - died July 2, 2020, Tehran)
Sirous Gorjestani spent his primary school in Anzali and later moved to the Iranian capital where he grew up in one of Tehran’s oldest neighborhoods.
He started his stage career in 1969 and made his film debut in 1979. This prolific actor started appearing on the small screen in 1973 and continued his career on TV after the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
Gorjestani, however, is most famous for his roles in comedy series. So far he has appeared in many series, including ‘Trouble’ (2007), ‘Imam Ali (PBUH)’ (1991), ‘The British Briefcase’ (1999), ‘A Place of Love’ (2000), ‘The Entrance Exam’ (2002), ‘The Suspect Got Away’ (2005), ‘Dance in the Sky’ (2005), ‘Shahriyar' (2006), ‘The Safe’ (2009), ‘Stepmother’ (2010), ‘The Occupiers’ (2010), ‘A Girl Named Ahoo’ (2011) and ‘The Pahlavi Hat’ (2012-2013).
His cinematic works also include ‘Snowman’ (1994), ‘The Visitor of Rey’ (2000), ‘Aquarium’ (2005), ‘Three Degree Fever’ (2010), ‘The First Condition’ (2009) and ‘Network’ (2011).
Gorjestani passed away on July 2, 2020 at the age of 76.
