Aslani, Farhad (born 1966, Bijar)

Farhad Aslani began acting in plays in 1979. He became a radio actor in 1992 before finishing a two-year directing and acting course at the Niavaran Cultural Complex in 1993.

After appearing in the series ‘The Neighbors’ (1993) as a young fruit vendor, Aslani attracted nation’s attention. The next year he appeared in his first feature-length film ‘Blue Scarf’ (1994).

Aslani has taken on diverse roles from a henpecked husband in ‘The Chef’ (2009) to the savage Ibn Ziyad in ‘The Rise of Mokhtar’ (2010) and from an adorable cleric in ‘A Cube of Sugar’ (2010) to a vicious killer in ‘Bear’ (2011).

He has appeared in series such as 'Imam Ali (PBUH)' (1991), 'The House on Fire' (1994), 'The Third Eye' (1995), 'A Trip to Chazabeh' (1995), 'The Doctors' (1998), 'The British Briefcase' (1999), 'The Story of a City' (2000), 'The Young Officer' (2001), 'A House in the Dark' (2002), 'Vafa' (2006), 'Neverending Road' (2007), 'The Safe' (2009), and 'Made in Iran' (2011).

He has also acted in movies such as 'A Trip to Chazabeh' (1995), 'The Secret Club' (1998), 'Filmaholic' (2000), 'The End of the Road' (2006), 'I'm a Mother' (2010), 'Thirteen 59 (1980)' (2010), 'Private Life' (2011), 'Wooden Bridge' (2011), 'The Resident of the Middle Floor' (2013), 'Kalashnikov' (2013), 'Ice Age' (2014), and 'Time to Love' (2014).

Aslani was nominated to receive the Crystal Simorgh of Fajr International Film Festival in 2000 for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for ‘Starry Sky’ (1999) and also in 2015 for the Best Actor in a Leading Role for Reza Mirkarimi’s ‘Daughter’ (2015).

He has received the Crystal Simorgh in Fajr International Film Festival for ‘Bear’ (2011) and ‘Private Life’ (2013).
