Multiple award-winning movie ‘Life+1 Day’ by Saeed Roustaei has been included in Iranian school textbook.
Internationally celebrated actor Peyman Moaadi expressed his pleasure to be in the classrooms via social media.
In a class activity in one of the school textbooks, students are assigned to watch ‘Life+1 Day’ and compare drug-involved family portrayed in the movie with a healthy one in real life.
‘Life+1 Day’ (Life and a Day) recounts the story of Somayeh, the youngest daughter of an underprivileged family who is to choose whether to marry a rich Afghan boy or to stay with her struggling siblings and continue to patch up her broken family.
Somayeh is the glue holding her family together, and each fears what will happen to them after she marries.
Roustaei’s movie has received several awards at the 34th Fajr Film Festival including best director, best screenplay, best actress award for Parinaz Izadyar, and best supporting actor award for Navid Mohammadzadeh.
Owing to its perfect balance of sensitivity and aestheticism, ‘Life+1 Day’ received the 2016 Reflet d’Or for Best Feature at the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans.
‘Life+1 Day’ has also bagged NETPAC Award at Iranian Film Festival Australia as well as the Best Script award at the 15th Dhaka International Film Festival.
