Reza Attaran picks cast members for his films/series from the streets of Tehran.
Iranian great comedian/ director and ifilm star of ‘No Men Allowed’ has said in an interview that he often selects some of the actors to play roles in his works from the streets among some non-actors.
‘The Fighter Rooster’ actor says before he starts a new project he goes to Nasser Khosro Street in Tehran which is among the overly crowded places in the Iranian capital. He goes there for two reasons, one of them being the fact that he feels life goes on in that street and the other is that he can hear different ideas about his works which can give him perspective about how his next works must be.
‘Sweet and Sour’ and ‘Right on Time’ director has so far introduced fresh and talented faces to Iranian filmmaking industry this way.
