Learn General’s ulterior motive in ‘Years of Snow and Violet’: iFilm cut

Learn the actual reason behind General’s animosity towards Ali in tonight’s episode of ‘Years of Snow and Violet’ to be aired at 18:00 GMT.

Throughout the show, the General has done everything in his power against Ali, the young aspiring engineer. He has made everyone believe that his real intention behind all his malevolence is to stop the young man from growing fond of his daughter Pouran.

With Pouran passing away, Forough imagines the army man has learned his lesson and his pain has made him go soft. However, the General shows his true colors confessing the real reason why he has caused the engineer all the misfortunes.

Directed by Saeed Soltani, ‘Years of Snow and Violet’ is about a young man named Ali who returns to Tehran after spending years abroad, studying agriculture, but he doesn’t want to stay.

He has fond memories of the childhood he spent in his family garden in a nearby village, and he wants to move back there to rejuvenate the place. He also has grand plans of establishing an agricultural institute in the village, but things do not go as smoothly as he had hoped.

He gets himself into trouble as soon as he steps foot there when he tries to stop a fight, ending up beating one of the henchmen of a local landlord they call the General who controls the police and runs the village as if it was his own.

Notable on the cast list are Atash Taqipour, Jahangir Almasi, Amir Aqaee, Laleh Eskandari, Mehdi Faqih, Sam Derakhshani, Azita Lachini, Nafiseh Roshan, the late Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz, the late Mohsen Qazi-Moradi, Shabnam Qolikhani, and Rahim Norouzi.

‘Years of Snow and Violet’, made in 2007, airs daily at 18:00 GMT. Each episode of the show is also set to repeat three times the next day at 00:00, 09:00 and 15:00 (all GMT times).
