Seeking sanctuary: Journey of faith and hope in ‘The Patriarch’

The 9th episode of iFilm English TV's series 'The Patriarch', to be aired at 20:00 GMT tonight, is to show a powerful moment.

Patriarch Asdollah Khan's wife, played by the late Hamideh Kheirabadi, finds herself in a state of desperation and sorrow, grappling with the tumultuous turn of events that has unfolded in her family.

A harmonious household where her children peacefully coexisted with their father is no more the case with their departure leaving Molouk shattered and isolated.

Even more distressing is the fact that her children have filed a complaint against their own father.

Seeking refuge and solace, Molouk turns to a sacred shrine, a place of immense significance.

This episode reminds us that, in times of adversity, the embrace of spirituality can offer a source of comfort and strength.

Directed by Akbar Khajouee, the 22-episode drama, hits the small screen every evening at 20:00 GMT.

'The Patriarch' is about an Iranian family under the firm grip of an old-fashioned patriarch, Asdollah. He rules his family with unwavering authority, and his every word is treated as absolute law.

None dare to challenge or question him, and even his adult children, after they are married and have families of their own, remain under his watchful eye.

However, the dynamics of the family begin to shift when his youngest son, Nasser, prepares to get married, and his future bride refuses to accept Asdollah's terms.
