Rouygari, Reza (born December 27, 1946, Tehran)
Reza Rouygari began painting at a young age.
In high school, he joined the theater club and appeared in the play 'Veys and Ramin'.
His television career started with the drama 'Hygiene Neighborhood' (1984) and he launched his film career with 'Eagles' (1984).
'The Tenants' (1986) is considered one of his best works to hit the silver screen.
In 1996, he took a break from acting and devoted his time to painting.
He returned to the silver screen seven years later with 'Boutique' (2003) for which he won an Iran Cinema Celebration Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
In recent years, he has mostly appeared in series.
One of his most memorable performances was in the period drama 'The Rise of Mokhtar' (2009) in which he played the role of Kian Irani.
Rouygari is the singer of the famous 'Iran Iran' song and has released several albums.
Some of his other films and series are 'Boro Bia Neighborhood' (1982), 'The Tenants' (1986), 'Lost Innocence' (2002), 'Operation 125' (2008), ' Heartbroken' (2008), 'Extreme Cold' (2009), 'The Rich and the Poor' (2009-2010), 'The Outcasts 3' (2010), '3-5-2' (2011), 'Madineh' (2014) and 'Leila's Loneliness' (2015).
