Iran’s Dizin ski resort is considered by many outdoor enthusiasts as a better alternative to the Alps mountain range in Europe as well as the Rockies in the US.

Dizin ski resort’s powdery snow quality rivals that of Europe and the Rockies.

The resort hosts thousands both locals and foreigners alike — with ski season starting around the middle of every fall.

Dizin has 20 lifts and 15 pistes (some running as high as 12,000 feet).

The International Ski Federation also holds its fair share of global competitions at the Iranian resort.

The chairlift tech is modern and snowboarders are also allowed.

Dizin’s ski season runs from late November until late May because the ski base sits 9,000 feet above the sea level making it one of the 40 highest in the world.

The place lies just under two-hour’s drive to the north of Tehran, up in the Alborz Mountains.
