'Under the Moonlight' directed by Reza Mirkarimi is slated to participate at Mowlana film festival in Turkey.
Iranian director Mirkarimi has been invited to the festival which is to be held in the Turkish city of Konya.
The movie, produced by Manouchehr Mohammadi, reviews the story of a seminary student, Seyyed Hassan, who is to become a cleric.
Seyyed Hassan’s father had strict plans for him. He sent his son to a seminary so he could study to become a cleric and come back to their village to preach, just like his late grandfather did.
Seyyed Hassan is about to graduate from the seminary, but he is not really sure whether he can fill his grandfather’s shoes or not. Seyyed Hassan has bought some fabrics to prepare his cleric costume, but a young boy steals his fabrics, which puts him even in more doubt about becoming a cleric. In pursuit of the boy, Seyyed Hassan gets more familiar with what the society needs.
The movie cast list includes Mehran Rajabi, Hossein Parastar, Mahmoud Rasekhfar, Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaei, and Shaqayeq Dehqan.
The event hosting famed Iranian director Mirkarimi honors world-renowned Persian poet and mystic Mowlana or more popularly known as Rumi. His work Masnavi has been widely recognized and translated into many languages.
